Drug Trafficking Poses a Major Problem for Europe

SITUATION

A European Union report published Tuesday, said the bloc’s citizens spend more than €24 billion ($27.3 billion) every year on illegal drugs such as cannabis and heroin. The European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction estimates that 22 million EU residents have used cannabis last year, generating about €9.3 billion in sales. The report said drug sales to EU consumers could have actually reached as much as €31 billion a year.

Europol chief Rob Wainwright said the drug trade “becomes entwined with other forms of crime, and even terrorism, it represents a key threat.” He continued, “I think the rather seismic security consequences of what happened in 2015—terrorist attacks coming at the same time as this unprecedented migration crisis—created, of course, an environment indeed for opportunistic exploitation by criminals.”

CHALLENGE

Drug trafficking and sales disrupt public order, fuel violent crime, undermine the economy, seek to corrupt, infiltrate, and control state institutions, and destroy social fabrics—a major threat to international peace, stability, and security. Proceeds from the illigict drug trade are used to finance international criminal and terrorist networks, as well as armed insurgent activities.

Successfully dismantling cartel networks requires a correct identification of drug routes, chains of distribution, channels of diversion and smuggling of chemical precursors, laundering and re-injection into criminal and terrorist activities. When quality intelligence is a pivotal part of closing the investigation, existing methods such as surveillance and tips prove time-consuming and costly. Reactive intelligence collection disciplines gravely limits law enforcement’s capability in seeking new leads and solving crime.

WHY BRAIN FINGERPRINTNG

Brain Fingerprinting is a rare solution that enables law enforcement to proactively verify and corroborate evidence. Waiting for targeted suspects to do something suspicious to be caught on surveillance is slow to conclude which targeted suspects are criminals. Insufficient cause for further investigation is what primarily stalls a case. Brain Fingerprinting is a solution purpose-built to find that critical missing link while fully maximizing personnel’s resources and time.

Brain Fingerprinting is a unique security solution designed to make detection and prosecution unavoidable for drug traffickers. The system offers accurate, reliable, and quick means to match available crime-related information with what is retained in a suspect’s memory. The breakthrough discovery of the P300 MERMER enables consistent detection of whether “information is present” or “information is absent” with over 99.9% accuracy.

When a suspect is detained, conventional methods of interrogation and questioning are futile if a suspect manipulates the truth.Brain Fingerprinting safely and non-invasively detects only crime-relevant information from a suspect. With Brain Fingeprrinting, law enforcement can identify whether a suspect knows names of persons involved in drug trafficking networks, phone numbers of incriminating persons, prime or unique drug routes, codes, specific names of chemicals used in drugs, and banking information used to launder money. Known for its zero false negatives and zero false positives, the value of Brain Fingerprinting is undeniable for law enforcement. By revealing what valuable knowledge a suspect has, security personnel can clear cases at an unprecendeted rate.

Brain Fingerprinting is a superior intelligence collection discipline that detects privileged information, instrumental enough to dismantle top transnational criminal networks. It is designed to empower law enforcement personnel with advanced capabilities never before known to the world of security. With increased security risks facing Europe, the need for Brain Fingerprinting is at its most paramount prevalence.
