Melbourne Terror Plot: Three men arrested over mass shooting fear: Brainwave Science

SITUATION

Three Victorian men, including two brothers, were arrested on suspicion of plotting an Islamic State-inspired terror attack in Melbourne. Police believe the suspects planned to open fire on a Melbourne crowd with a semiautomatic rifle, with an intention to kill as many people as possible.

Hanifi Halis, 21, and brothers Samed Eriklioglu, 26, and Ertunc Eriklioglu, 30, were arrested following the police dawn raid at their respective homes on Tuesday and charged with preparing for an act of terrorism.  However, the suspect’s family denied the allegations. Armagan Eriklioglu, the father of arrested brothers, said his sons were neither violent nor inspired by Islamic State.

Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton said the plot was inspired rather than being directed by Islamic State. Australian law enforcement agencies have been monitoring the suspects since March last year after their attempts to travel to Syria. The police arrested the suspects after the encrypted communication, complicated enough to decipher, increased in the past week following the Bourke Street attack and trial of James Gargasoulas. He further included Police isn’t aware of the place or time of the attacks but there was a view towards a crowded place.

The suspects, Australian nationals of Turkish background, radicalized themselves and were inspired by Islamic State police said.

Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) and other federal agencies conducted a dawn raid and foil the group’s alleged plans.

Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner Ian McCartney praised the joint counter-terrorism operation results, especially after the ongoing Bourke Street (car attack) trail. He quoted related to the foil terror attack:

“If we had not acted early in preventing this attack, we will allege the consequences would have been of significant potential loss of human life.”

CHALLENGE

Australia, a strong U.S. ally that sent troops to Afghanistan and Iraq to fight terrorism, has been on heightened alert since 2014 for attacks by home-grown militants inspired by the Islamic States or other terrorist organizations.

Concern regarding the domestic security of Australia has been a serious discussion for law enforcement agencies. The arrests came less than weeks after Bourke Street attack and conviction of three men plotting Christmas terrorist attack. Terrorist organizations and Religious extremists around the world, including in Australia, are increasingly turning to the internet to indoctrinate and radicalize locals with no prior criminal history. Matter of fact, the so-called-weaken Islamic State still possesses a strong presence in cyberspace and utilize it for communication, recruitment, propaganda, and encouraging attacks on Australia and other countries.

It has become a great challenge for law enforcement agencies around the globe to identify the method of radicalization, investigate the ongoing terrorist crime, prevent future terrorist attacks and above all identify a terrorist who could easily blend in with the public. Law Enforcement personnel desperately need a tool which can help them make objective decisions with utmost accuracy, in order to strength domestic security and prevent future calamity.

WHY BRAIN FINGERPRINTING?

Monitoring and investigating potential terrorists isn’t as easy as it sounds. Almost all terrorists are under suspicion of law enforcement officers at one point or other and these terrorists are connected to a specific chain of commands which is accessible only for a very short duration after a particular terrorist arrest or attack. Irrespective of thousands of terrorists arrested, identifying this hideous chain and gaining specific intelligence that could be used to reverse engineer and thereby eliminate the whole terrorist group isn’t found yet. The reason for this failure is the time-taking, costly terrorist investigation. For example, in this case, Australian Law Enforcement personnel have obtained over 17,000 intercepted phone calls and 10,500 messages, from the arrested suspects, which will take several months or maybe years to transcribe and gain confidential information necessary to identify the modus operandi.

Only one existing technology in the security market that can provide counterterrorism authorities with a tool that could give the much-awaited solution to above mention problem i.e. a mean to identify the terrorists from innocents and a scientific way to tap inside the terrorist’s brain to identify the possession of a specific crime-related information. Brainwave Science is the only company that offers such a state-of-the-art tool and it’s called Brain Fingerprinting. It is the most suitable neuroscience-based, forensic technology that can support law enforcement agencies to obtain accurate information about encrypted communication within an hour. Brain Fingerprinting helps investigators tap inside the terrorist’s brain and reveal what specific crime-related information he or she possesses, verify the testimonies of suspects or person of interest and provide accurate intelligence, missing links or connections to investigate the case in the right direction and at the right time.

The biggest challenge for law enforcement personnel is to identify the level of involvement. Brain Fingerprinting can determine this level of involvement of an individual in a terrorist plot or attack without using any inhumane way.  The technology is based on the P300 and P300-MERMER brain responses, which accurately determine whether specific information shown to the terrorist is present in the brain or not using a noninvasive proprietary headset to record and analyze brainwaves .  Brain Fingerprinting is the only technology that is unbeatable and guarantees over 99% accurate results in more than 85% of criminal and civil cases wherever some investigation is carried out.

A 45-minutes Brain Fingerprinting test eliminates human suffering, torture and emotions opted in the various investigative processes, determines what specific crime-related information suspects are trying to conceal from the investigator and further provides an impeccably accurate information about their encrypted communication. Once all case-related information including previous terrorist attack information is uploaded into the Brain Fingerprinting system protocol. The system records and analyzes the brainwave responses via upgraded proprietary headset when confidential stimuli is flashed to the terrorists on a digital screen. With over 99% accuracy Brain Fingerprinting technology determines if a terrorist possesses specific crime-related information or not.

Brain Fingerprinting by Brainwave Science offers an advanced neuroscience forensic tool that every law enforcement agency urgently needs as a weapon to fight terrorism. Brain Fingerprinting not only provides the intelligence to identify the terrorist or chain of command but also provides the “lost key” to eliminate the terrorism.
