A Cyprus national has been arrested by Australian Border Force (ABF) officers for allegedly carrying four kilograms of methamphetamine worth $3.5 million concealed in his luggage at Sydney International Airport.
The suspect, 45-year-old man, was travelling on a flight from Qatar to Sydney and during the security check, ABF noticed inconsistencies in the X-ray image. After further inspection of the luggage, ABF personnel discovered layers of methamphetamine concealed in the lining of the suitcase. According to ABF statement, the substance was inspected, and positive confirmation came for the drug methamphetamine, also known as “ice”. ABF officers referred the case to Australian Federal Police who arrested and charged the suspect with drug smuggling. The arrested suspect is currently behind bars and will face the maximum penalty for this offence- life imprisonment.
Acting ABF Regional Commander NSW Tony McSweeney congratulated the ABF officers for their hardship and efforts to stop drug smuggling.
“We know the significant damage ice is having on communities around the country, and our officers at the border are committed to stopping drug like this reaching our kids and destroying families and communities,” he said.
According to the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission report, Australia has a big problem with drug smuggling especially ice, the citizens consume over 765 kilos of heroin and 3,354 kilograms of ice every year despite the efforts of AFP and ABF to seize illicit drugs and arrest drug smugglers.
Australian Law Enforcement experiment a new technique where they increase the drug seizures and assumed availability would decrease but ACIC report illustrated that use of methamphetamine and cocaine have both increased despite all the measures. According to Detective Superintendent O’Mahony, drug smugglers always find creative ways to smuggle drugs into the country. Existing technologies and methods used by law enforcement agencies fall short to provide enough evidence to identify the drug smuggler, accurate confirmation about drug smuggling as in where and how and other vital information necessary from the arrested smuggler and use the technology to destroy the whole drug trafficking network.
Australia has the highest use of methamphetamine in the English-speaking world or indeed almost any other country. It is not an exaggeration to say that what Australian law enforcement is facing is nothing short of an epidemic way beyond anything they have seen before. The only potential solution left for Australian law enforcement to enhance the achievement of ABF and AFP is through embracing the most powerful specific screening tool that is impeccably accurate, guarantees 100% results, is easy to use and learn and non-invasive technology developed by Brainwave Science and it’s called iCognative. In order to crush the drug network in Australia, law enforcement officials need accurate intelligence and leads at an appropriate time.
iCognative is the only existing technology that can provide an accuracy rate of over 99% and determine precisely what the arrested drug trafficker knows and produce accurate intelligence such as location of cartel and drug kingpin, date and time of future drug smuggling, method of smuggling, identification of drug traffickers in the country and other vital information from the best source of all action- the human brain. The drug smuggling is a complex problem and solely possible solution to eradicate drug trafficking is through conviction of kingpins along with the foot-soldiers. As drug traffickers are creative towards the method of smuggling drug, law enforcement agencies must empower iCognative by Brainwave Science and use the accurate intelligence provided by this technology to reverse-engineer the whole drug network.
A 45-minute iCognative test when utilized by Australian law enforcement agencies can identify the drug trafficker from innocent and further provide missing links, evidence and intelligence that law enforcement requires years to obtain through conventional investigative solutions. iCognative technology guarantees positive results with impeccable accuracy levels as the testing involves no question answer, no false positive or false negative and minimal human intervention, therefore, it is the only existing technology that is virtually unbeatable and greatest treasure for law enforcement agencies. In the current case at hand the technology can provide very fruitful results on the perpetrator with case investigation details to dismantle the whole trafficking network. Details related to the investigation of this case such as: date and time of arrest; pictures of bags used; route and handlers who assisted trafficking; known contacts; code words used and insider support if any; along with testimonies collected from other witnesses, etc., can be used to conduct a iCognative test to identify all co-conspirators in this smuggling on meth case for AFP and ABP.
The flexibility of operation and ample scope of application make this cost-effective iCognative solution imperative for any situation in question. The sensible approach to eradicating the whole drug network without persecuting innocent is through the utilization of Brainwave Science’s iCognative.
