Refugee soccer player detained in Thailand: Brainwave Science

SITUATION

Bahraini professional soccer star, Hakeem Ali Mohamed Ali Al-Araib, arrested in Thailand turns out to be an International incident. After the information about his deportation leaked out, the human rights group urged Thai authorities not to deport the soccer player to his homeland as they suspect he would face imprisonment for political reasons.

According to the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy statement, Hakeem was detained and tortured by Bahrain authorities in 2012 before he fled to Australia seeking asylum. Hakeem has been openly criticized Bahrain’s royal family’s alleged involvement in sport scandals.  He initially played for Bahrain’s national soccer team and now plays for Melbourne’s Pascoe Vale Football Club.

Hakeem was detained at Bangkok’s international airport based on an Interpol notice issued at Bahrain’s demand that says Hakeem was convicted of vandalizing a police station in Bahrain and imprisoned to 10 years in absentia. However, he has denied such allegation as he said he was playing an international match during the period of the alleged crime.

Thailand does not have an extradition treaty with Bahrain but “it could be considered on a case-by-case basis”, said Chitphol Kanchanakit at the Foreign Affairs Department.

The Human Right Watch also confirmed Bahraini authorities tortured Hakeem because of his brother’s political activities and being an outspoken critic of the president of the Asian Football Federation, Sheikh Salman Alkhalifa, who is a cousin of the Bahrain king. As Australian government accepted him as a refugee therefore, he should be sent to Australia rather than Bahrain, the human right activists demand.

According to a senior researcher at Human Rights Watch in Thailand, “Sending Hakeem back to his homeland would be heartless act that violates Thailand’s obligations to protect refugees.”

CHALLENGE

Along with other Activists, Sayed Ahmed Alwadei- Director of BIRD, acknowledges that Hakeem’s life is threatened if he is deported to Bahrain. The Director further explains that Interpol has abused its obligation as Hakeem holds refugee status and returning him to Bahrain puts him at considerable risk of torture, imprisonment or even death.  At present condition, the outspoken critics against Royal families in Middle East are experiencing a difficult situation, one such infamous case is Khashoggi murder.

According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), Bahrain’s human rights climate continued to deteriorate. The free-minded individuals and journalists are deserting the country due to life-threatening risk. HRW accused Bahrain’s Law Enforcement agencies using inhumane way like torture against free-minded citizens including dissidents, journalists, and lawyers into signing confessions.

Hakeem’s situation and pressure from international and local Human Rights agencies has put Thailand into a dilemma. Thailand’s extradition treaty with Bahrain may not be effective but it is necessary for Thai authority to make a legitimate decision before deporting Hakeem. Thus, Thai and Australian government must identify the truth about accusation against Hakeem. The real question is how to extract the truth behind this situation when provided documents could be manipulated and only Hakeem ‘s brain could reveal the truth? Did he actually commit a crime in Bahrain? It has been a common practice used by migrants who have been a perpetrator in the homeland to seek asylum in a foreign country in order to protect themselves from punishment.

WHY BRAIN FINGERPRINTING?

Hakeem’s case demonstrates precisely why the truth should be known to law enforcement agencies before charging someone with serious crime and reiterates the requirement of proven technology to identify the asylum seeking migrant. This has been a global issue and the biggest challenge for law enforcement agencies as thousands of innocents have faced wrongful executed. Till date, inhumane methods like torture are opted by law enforcement agencies in order to know the truth. Such methods do not guarantee accurate results.

As the demand of advanced forensic technology which could tap inside the human brain and reveal what information he or she possess has aroused, one step ahead of the curve, a reputed company Brainwave Science has already designed and developed such technology and it’s called Brain Fingerprinting. This technology aims to reveal the absolute truth behind a crime through the power of brainwaves and eliminates torture and inhumane interrogation methods. The Brain Fingerprinting supports law enforcement agencies around the globe to distinguish between perpetrator and innocent and provides guaranteed positive result without necessity of physical evidence.

The Brain Fingerprinting technology is based on the scientifically proven and approved P300 and P300-MERMER brain responses, which accurately determines whether a suspect’s brain possesses specific crime related information or not by using a non-invasive proprietary headset to record and analyze brainwaves. Irrespective of how smart or intelligence a suspect is, he or she can’t lie or cheat Brain Fingerprinting technology as it involves no question answers. It only reveals what information suspect’s brain possess or is trying to conceal from the investigators. The Brain Fingerprinting guarantees a high success rates in such cases with minimal possibility of error.

A 45-minutes Brain Fingerprinting test when utilized by Royal Thai Police would reveal the truth behind Hakeem’s case such as how and when he committed the crime, who was involved in the crime, what information was provided to Australian government, did he intentionally conceal certain crime-relation information and verify his family’s testimonies. All the investigative details provided by Interpol and Bahrain Police is uploaded into the Brain Fingerprinting system protocol. The system records and analyzes the brainwave responses when confidential information is flashed in front of Hakeem to determine whether he possesses specific crime-related information or not.  Brain Fingerprinting technology is also applicable to determine the true identity of millions of migrants, asylum seekers and reveal what information they are trying to conceal from the foreign country.  The problem of immigration and global migrants and refugee crisis has forced law enforcement to consider alternative and disruptive technologies like Brain Fingerprinting.

Brainwave Science’s Brain Fingerprinting is the only technology that is applicable in more than 85% of the crime cases wherever some investigation has been carried out. Brain Fingerprinting provides a scientific way for Royal Thai Police to tap inside the Hakeem’s brain and with over 99% accurate determine whether he committed a crime or not.
