February 21, 2019: Brazilian police busts vast aerial drug trafficking network

SITUATION Brazilian federal police said on Thursday that they were serving arrest warrants for 54 people over their alleged role in a vast drug trafficking network which specialized in airborne shipments to Brazil, the United States and Europe. Police said they had court orders to seize 47 planes and 13 properties containing more than 10,000 heads of cattle as part of the bust. February 20, 2019: Italian police bust migrant trafficking ring, arrest 11 people

SITUATION Italian police have come across and made significant progress into breaking up an organization which trafficked migrants from southern Italy to northern Europe. The group was reportedly based in a former Olympic village named “Ex MOI” in Turin. The Police say that the group moved scores of foreigners throughout Europe in exchange for large sums of money. The ring ferried dozens of migrants and charged thousands of euros per person. The Police have arrested 11 suspects. Most of these arrested persons happen to be nationals of Somalia. February 20, 2019: 14 Nigerian kids sold by parents for labor, 3 traffickers held

SITUATION The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) has apprehended three suspected human traffickers. In this operation, 14 victims were rescued. The suspects are namely Evelyn Jerry, Stephen Rebecca, and Richard Patrick. They were originally confronted by soldiers who were on duty around Lokoja in Kogi Stae.
