January 7, 2018: 15 women rescued from human traffickers in 2017 by London police

SITUATION   London police rescued 15 women and girls from human traffickers in 2017, as CBC News reveal. The youngest of the rescued victims was 14 years old. During 2017, 16 human trafficking charges were laid, as well as more than 200 other criminal code charges. January 3, 2018: Kenya beefs up border security after the killing of 5 police officers

SITUATION   Kenyan authorities have increased the security along Somali border after Al-Shabaab militants killed five police officers. Three police reservists and two Administration Police officers who were on patrol along Elwak-Kotulo road lost their lives. The attackers also burnt a police lorry during the ambush. “We lost five security officers in the attack while on patrol on Elwak-Kotulo road. November 25, 2017: Egypt strikes against suspected terrorists after killing 305 people in mosque terror attack
