In a Thursday morning raid, officers from the transnationally organised crime unit arrived at the Gwa Kairu homestead and arrested three Kenyan women.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) named the suspects as Mercy Kaaia, Lydia Nyambura and Susan Nyambura Ng’ang’a.Kenya police rescue
According to the DCI, the 25 victims were being held hostage at the compound in readiness for transit to Asian countries. They were aged between 24 and 33 years.Police said the suspects will be charged soon.

The International Organization of Migration says that up to 20,000 people from Somalia and Ethiopia are smuggled into Kenya each year and their way to South Africa.
