European Migrant Crisis
The Moroccan security services, in coordination with Spanish counterparts, have arrested 5 people for organizing illegal immigration and human trafficking.
The first suspect, wanted nationally for facilitating illegal immigration, was arrested red-handed driving a bus carrying five people from sub-Saharan African nations, the police said in a statement.
Follow-up investigations led to the arrests of four other accomplices from the northern city of Nador and the neighboring town of Bni Oukil for being linked to the same network operating in the country’s northern shores.
During the police operations, several vehicles and equipment suspected of being used by the suspects were seized, including 9 inflatable boats, 12 engines for these boats, 2 cars, and mechanical and electronic sea navigation equipment.
The suspects were remanded in police custody, as investigations are underway to shed light on the network and to nab all suspects involved, the police said.
The police have made remarkable progress in arresting members of a trafficking organization which profits off innocent and misled people. They just want to escape the violence and lack of opportunities in their country. These victims fall in the trap of the traffickers who wish to extract every penny that the victims have. Hundreds of thousands of migrants have reached Europe from Africa through Italy. They pay thousands of US Dollars for a trip. Usually, these trips end in tragedy. Hundreds of migrants died last year while trying to make their way to Europe. Of the 6000+ who have made it safely, have been officially registered in the immigration system. There are terrorists in the guise of migrants which need to be screened.
Illegal migrants begin their journey from all over Africa. The problem is multi-faceted. There is illegal immigration which causes the taxpayer’s money to be used for unforeseen activities. Also, there is a concern of national security as some of the immigrants have terrorism as a motive. The undocumented migrants are hidden away and are forced to commit crimes to feed themselves and repay debt.
If these organizations behind the trafficking are defeated, then not only Europe but also African countries will breathe easy. It is a humongous task to tackle such a complex and spread out a criminal organization which has funding through terror and illegal migration. In the modern world, new security challenges require an innovative solution. Border security agencies are at the forefront of defending their countries against threats originating from outside, be it illegal immigrants or terrorists disguised as asylum seekers.
iCognative by Brainwave Science is a technology which can help investigative agencies to detect whether certain information related to a crime is concealed or not within the brain of a suspect. Such a capability can make investigations and interrogations much more efficient. Imagine a world where agencies can move on to the next suspect if they find that the current one is not likely to be the perpetrator, by using a test which does not even last for an hour and one which delivers instantaneous results. When the test results declare that the information is present, then the officers have found their person and may focus all their precious time on that suspect. This helps to save time, money and parallelize investigations while not traumatizing the unlikely suspects
It is a game-changer in the field of forensic science. Border control agencies and Immigration agencies can now carry out screenings and investigations with astounding precision and reliability. iCognative gives absolute confidence to the interrogators. At the same time, it ensures that the detainees and test subjects are not tortured or put through any inconvenience. The language which a suspect knows has nothing to do with the test. There is nothing lost in translation since there are no words exchanged between the test administrator and the suspect. iCognative works on the principle that the human brain responds to the sight of familiar stimuli with a distinct change in electrical activity. iCognative knows that the brain cannot lie and thus it bases all its efforts on this principle.
It is a common knowledge that Lie Detector and Polygraph tests are used to identify if a test subject is lying or not based on emotional responses. Unfortunately, the results of these tests are highly subjective and depend heavily on the polygraphist. iCognative removes this subjectivity because the opinions of the test administrator do not play a part in the result.
iCognative has no known countermeasures. This means that no false positives or no false negatives will be reported. iCognative is a universally applicable forensic tool, it can be used by immigration, border control, law enforcement, counter-terrorism, national security, and human and drug trafficking agencies.
In this case, the Moroccan agencies can make quick progress by running iCognative test on the 5 arrested persons. It is the best way to detect if they possess crime-related information or not. If the agencies suspect the presence of terrorists/influencers/sleeper-cell-member, then iCognative can do the job. The stimuli in this test can be in the form of pictures, words or phrases. In this case, the arrested persons can be shown details such as known trafficking routes, source of purchase of the several vehicles and equipment such as 9 inflatable boats, 12 engines for these boats, 2 cars, and mechanical and electronic sea navigation equipment, the records of where these vehicles had been in the recent past, details of falsified travel documents, pictures of known victims, other members of the related organizations, details of related convicts, etc.
This test can not only help to identify if they possess crime-related information but also to help get clues about which illegal traffickers they might coordinate wirh. iCognative will also help verify high-value individuals in criminal organizations. If any person among them may have been radicalized or has had terrorist training, then this can be detected by a simple 45-minute iCognative test.
iCognative is applicable to 85-90% of all types of civil or criminal cases. It is highly customizable and portable, and thus it is very easy to get agencies onboard to this extremely useful technology.
The Moroccan agencies must try out the power of iCognative in the interrogation of the 5 arrested persons in order to help solve the issue of illegal immigration which affects people in Africa and Europe altogether.
