US College Scam: Hundreds of Indian students face deportation, jail

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency arrested at least 100 Indian students and eight student recruiters- all of whom are either Indian nationals or Indian Americans- after busting a “pay to stay” visa racket across cities in the US. US College

Homeland Security (HSI) agents created a fake university in Michigan to attract foreign nationals who wanted to use student status to extend U.S. visa privileges, according to a federal indictment unsealed. Eight student recruiters participated in the conceal conspiracy to help at least 600 foreign citizens stay in the US illegally. The recruiters allegedly misused student visas and helped “unqualified students” stay back in the US with falsified documents. U.S. officials said in the indictment that any students who were affiliated with the school knew they were taking part in a scam and that the Farmington arrangement should not be openly discussed. According to a spokesperson for ICE, “Federal agents arrested dozens of University of Farmington students in a nationwide sweep. The students were arrested on immigration violations and face possible deportation.” The US authorities informed the media that they have charged the recruiters on several counts including “conspiracy to commit visa fraud and harbor aliens for profit.” They further added the recruiters helped approximately 600 foreign students fraudulently obtain immigration documents, Certificates of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant Student Status or I-20, from the university and helped create fake student records including transcripts. Many of the recruiters collected thousands of dollars in this scam.

US law enforcement officials believe the students, who had enrolled with the University of Farmington, knew it was fake as the university had no staff, no teachers, and conducted no real classes and yet they were illegally staying back in the US.  US Attorney Matthew Schneider stated, “We are all aware that international students can be a valuable asset to our country, but as this case shows, the well-intended international student visa programme can also be exploited and abused.” US College

Don’t treat the symptom, treat the root cause of the problem. This is a recurring situation in the US. In 2013, HSI agents created the University of Northern New Jersey (UNNJ) out of whole cloth — and used it to indict 21 “brokers, recruiters, and employers” from across the U.S. The US government regards visa fraud as a serious national security issue. Student visa fraud is perceived by law enforcement personnel as particularly problematic because this fraud has opted as the method of illegal entry by several terrorists or criminals including the 9/11 terrorists. The same issue has been raised by US president Donald Trump regarding the Immigration.  Student visa fraud is the biggest challenge for law enforcement agencies because unscrupulous or fake universities issue a visa to foreign nationals who are willing to pay in order to stay in the country illegally and monitoring and trafficking foreign nationals is impractical. Such fraud cases provide a “back door”- illegal entry into the United States for immigrant or criminals. US College

US government is already engaged in defending its borders from intruders and threats such as Honduran migrants. However, some experts believe “building a wall” is the permanent solution to this immigration crisis in order to protect the nation’s interest while others suggest open boundaries. But if visa fraud could be the easiest and possible way to enter or remain in the US illegally then this situation, where any criminal or terrorist may very well pose as a student can illegally enter or stay into the United States, is far more sensitive than imagined before. In most of these visa fraud cases, even in this one, law enforcement agencies set a trap based on some anonymous tip in order to determine the recruiters and illegal immigrants, however, this process takes years to provide impressive results. But a vital question does arise, what about the identification of mastermind or illegal immigrants who already possess fake documents necessary to stay in the United States?

As stated by US Attorney Matthew Schneider, well-designed international student visa programme can be an asset and could be easily exploited and abused by fraudsters by providing “back door” for illegal immigrants and terrorists. “Pay to stay” visa racket demonstrates precisely why law enforcement agencies desperately need to look for alternative methods or processes to identify the fraud recruiters or illegal immigrants before they come to an imminent threat to National Security. Here, the most important task for law enforcement personnel is to gain specific information related to existing visa rackets and determine the perpetrators, who could be linked to gangs or terror organizations, from innocents before deportation.

The existing investigative techniques or intelligence-gathering methods opted by law enforcement agencies in these complex cases do not provide guaranteed accurate results or reveal the crime-related information possesses by suspects. The world today desperately needs a non-intrusive, accordable and efficient technology with nearly perfect accuracy. Brainwave Science has unveiled the most revolutionary technology of this century which provide all the above features and it’s called iCognative which quickly detects concealed information from suspect’s brain by measuring brainwaves. This technology guarantees positive results with near 100% accuracy- is already considered as one of the era’s most powerful investigative weaponry by various law enforcement agencies around the globe. iCognative is the only technology in the security market that provide law enforcement personnel a scientific way to tap inside the human brain and identify the crime-related information possess by a suspect with over 99% accuracy. This technology does not only reveal what information suspect’s brain possess but also the information, he or she is trying to conceal from the investigators. In this case, all the necessary crime-related information could be accessible and verified with almost perfect accuracy once law enforcement agencies utilize a 45-minutes iCognative test on the arrested suspects. Information such as: details of payments made to fraudsters, methods of operation, special instructions shared by perpetrators with the students to conceal their scheme, who and how were fake documents were created and delivered, contacts approached, information of any known visa fraud racket, bank transfer details, identification of other known or unknown recruiters, financial records and details, etc., would be easily available to law enforcement personnel to investigate this case in the right direction once the test is completed. An assigned investigator uploads all the investigative details related to this case and other “pay-to-stay” visa racket cases into the iCognative system protocol. The system records and analyzes the brain responses when case related known and confidential information (called Stimuli) is flashed to the suspect on a digital screen in the forms of pictures, phrases or words and determine with over 99% accuracy what information the suspect possesses and is trying to conceal from the investigator.  iCognative is a user-friendly technology, therefore, it is easy to operate without necessity of specific knowledge or skills. Fake documents, visa overstay and violation of all US visa rules should be punished severely for all those who attempt to fool the US Immigration system. Aiding and abetting in a scam should be punishable and students who knowingly participated in this must be held to a severe legal standard. HSI and FBI like agencies must utilize iCognative as primary investigative weaponry to launch a massive crackdown on such frauds that seems to have slipped in 2013. iCognative technology provides the lost key to eliminate such frauds and identify the illegal immigrants, terrorists, traffickers, murderer hidden within the country before they could act. iCognative is for sure the best weaponry introduced and provided by Brainwave Science to maintain peace, prevent future crimes and protect innocents.
