A five months old case on the murder and rape of a minor girl from Modi Nagar area got 5 people arrested on the 14th of May, under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender), 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act).

The Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna stated that on December 27th, a missing report was lodged by the parents of the girl at Modinagar Police station. “On January 12th, the minor’s body was found in the jungle near Mohiuddinpur area of district Meerut”, he added.

The 5 suspects had a father-son duo as masterminds of the murder plan. The girl was supposedly forcing the son (Sumit Kumar, 21 years old) to marry her, so the duo decided to get her out of the picture. The suspects are the father, Ramesh Kumar (60 years old), Sumit’s friends Asif (21 years old), Rajeev (26 years old) and a hired driver named Sonu (26 years old). “The prime accused Sumit confessed he was in love with the girl and on December 26th, he took her in Vijay Nagar area and cohabited with her after which she was mounting pressure on him for marriage. Upon rejection of the proposal she threatened to lodge an FIR against him,” a police official said.

According to Police officials, on January 9th Sumit and his friends took the girl for a ride in a Swift car, consumed alcohol at Ganga Canal, and then strangulated her, using her stole, in the Mohiuddinpur area. Her body was crushed under the Swift car, so they could dispose the body as unidentifiable.

Sumit Kumar, confessed when interrogated by the Crime Branch of Ghaziabad Police that he met the girl in November 2017 during a wedding. “We met frequently. I gave her a mobile phone which was noticed by her mother. She left her house, called me and asked me to marry her. I was ready and asked her to stay at my friend’s house at Vijay Nagar till the issue subsided. After police picked me up initially, I came to know she had more boyfriends,” Kumar claimed. “I changed my plan and planned to murder her. On January 8, I roped in driver Sonu for Rs 200 and a bottle of alcohol. We picked her up from Vijay Nagar and took her to Meerut. My father and I strangled her.” Kumar said. He added they ran the car over her with the help of Sonu.

A motorcycle, a car, 2 country-made pistols, 4 live cartridges and the stole from the accused, were recovered by the Police when the perpetrators got arrested after Sumit confession. Police officials said. “All these things were used in the commission of the crime. Her earrings and clothes were recovered from a sugar cane field where her body was thrown.”

Police also stated that Sumit and his accomplices were first picked up for questioning after the girl had gone missing on December 26, 2017, but no connection was established.

Violence against women and children is still a concern Worldwide. The use of physical strength to make women surrender to men’s will is an unfortunate end for many victims. This case was another violent crime on a girl who was attacked by her boyfriend and his father. It was a coward attack on the victim who was only 15 years old and who may have consumed alcohol before getting killed according to the Police. Raping, killing and destroying the victim’s murder was easy to these group of criminals but 5 months were necessary to get them to justice.

How could Modinagar Police, as a local Force, gather intelligence on this crime faster instead of transferring the investigation to Crime Branch of Ghaziabad Police after almost 5 months with no results?

To find out who raped, killed and helped dispose of the deceased minor girl, iCognative by Brainwave Science may very well be the go-to technology. This advanced security and investigation solution helps distinguish between innocents and perpetrators by detecting concealed information in the brain. Such technology is applicable in virtually all cases in which investigation has been conducted by any Law Enforcement agencies in the areas of  Violent Crimes and many more. Any suspect with a functioning brain can take the test since it respects Human Rights and is rendered safe and non-invasive. Any individual, who authorities have a reason to believe,  can be brought in for questioning can be considered as a candidate for this test.  Despite suspects usually choose not to cooperate on sharing details and relevant associated people, iCognative by Brainwave Science detects crime relevant concealed information from all suspicious people helps identify criminals. It is based on the solid scientific foundation called P300 and relies only on brain information processing that detects distinct change in electrical activity when a human brain responds to the sight of familiar stimuli. iCognative by Brainwave Science matches information from the crime scene with information stored in the subject’s brain –  which the authorities have not released to the public. The system behind the technology is automated guided by intelligent algorithms requires minimal human intervention, virtually eliminates all errors and has unparalleled accuracy rates.

To conduct the test, confidential information from the situation along with information is known by the public is presented in form of words, phrases or pictures on a monitor in front of the subject. In this known case details such as : date of victim disappearance – 26th of December; date of the murder – 9th of January; location of the murder – Meerut; Killing Method – strangle with victim’s stole; the way criminals tried to disguise victim’s body – crushed body with Swift car is presented along with confidential information known only to the perpetrator.  As the subject watches this on screen the brain does the talking. Brainwaves are collected and then analyzed by analysis engine with 99.9% accuracy. Additionally, this effective solution serves the Crime Branch of Ghaziabad Police with an opportunity of investigating deeply this case and get the truth on each suspect’s involvement.  The knowledge that such system exists with Police and can quickly help reveal truth may very well act as a deterrent for others planning to commit such heinous crimes. In retrospect, one can only hope that  5 men involved in this violent and horrific crime could have been arrested earlier with the usage of iCognative by Brainwave Science, as they were interrogated when the girl’s disappearance was reported on December 2017.

How long do we have to wait to have such a revolutionary technology on authority’s daily use? The time to take action is NOW, this is the time for iCognative by Brainwave Science.
