April 17, 2019 : Two pipe bombs rock Northern Ireland counties of Armagh and Antrim

SITUATION Police are investigating two separate pipe bomb attacks in Northern Ireland with one incident resulting in two devices exploding at an Armagh home. The damage was caused to the front door of the property in Windmill Avenue, Armagh at around 11.30pm. Three adults inside at the time were unhurt. Police are working to establish a motive. SITUATION Canadian authorities have released surveillance footage of a suspect who shot a woman with a crossbow on her front porch while posing as a delivery person. The video, released Monday, showed a masked man approaching the 44-year-old woman's home near Toronto with a large cardboard box in his hand and a hidden crossbow. He rang the doorbell, chatted with the woman for a few moments and fired an arrow into her chest, leaving her with life-threatening injuries. SITUATION A skyscraper named Torre Espacio in Madrid that houses the British, Dutch, Australian and Canadian embassies was evacuated on Tuesday over a bomb warning that turned out to be false. Police evacuated the 57-storey Torrespacio building after the Australian embassy received a bomb threat by telephone, a police spokeswoman said. “It was finally determined that the threat was false. SITUATION A 63-year-old Norwegian man has been found guilty in Moscow of espionage over Russian nuclear submarines and sentenced to 14 years in a high-security jail. Frode Berg, who used to work as a guard on the Norwegian-Russian border, was detained in Moscow in 2017 following a sting operation by Russia’s FSB security services.
