Major General Edward Buba explained that members of this group, originating from Niger and Mali, began infiltrating Nigeria’s Sokoto and Kebbi states following the recent coup in Niger. The disrupted cooperation between Nigerian and Nigerian forces, previously essential in securing the northern border, allowed these terrorists to gain a foothold in Nigeria.
